Unprofessional products/brands have a certain type of silicone
in them. These types of silicone build up in the hair over time, sometimes when
colouring your hair whilst using these products a chemical reaction can occur.

When this happens, bleach & silicone coming into contact
causing this reaction it can leave you with hair damage, breakage, hot foils,
colour lifting very quickly/too fast, uneven colour, toners not holding (going
yellow/brassy) colour not lightening at all causing a barrier from the silicone
and colour fading very quickly.

Silicone in the hair can make your hair feel flat, dull in
colour, feel oily quickly and a slimy/slippery feel to the hair even if you don’t
colour it.

When you spend money and time on your hair to get to your dream colour it is important to use the right products to maintain your hair colour at home to get longevity out of it. Always ask your hairdresser for their recommendations, they know your hair and hair colour best!
